Out of the blue I got a call from my high school art teacher. I hadn't talked to him for easily 12 years. It was great to hear from him and to catch op on all the things he's done and is doing since we last talked. He is retired form teaching but like most "retired" people I know he still works most of the time. I can understand that. I'm years, check that, decades from retiring but I'm pretty sure I'll be the same way.
Anyway, to the point! After talking for half an hour we started to say our goodbyes but I quickly cut him off to thank him for the encouragement and guidance he gave me though high school. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have followed the path I have taken. I'm sure we've ALL had people like this in our past, (and hopefully our future). It felt good to talk to him and thank him because when I was younger I didn't realize the effort he was putting forward let alone appreciate it.
I have been lucky to have more than one of these people in my past and I hope I will be quicker to thank those who help me in the future. For all those I have never thanked- Thank you.
